Wawa - Wow! June 21st and 22nd wowed us . Levels One and Two of Therapeutic Touch were offered in Wawa and there was an excellent turnout for both levels. Therapeutic Touch Network of Ontario teacher Shirley Boon R.N. , of Huntsville, Ontario provided excellent grounding in this lovely healing modality. Therapeutic Touch (TT) is "profoundly simple and simply profound" according to Dolores Krieger who developed TT along with her friend Dora Kunz. Shirley taught that intention and compassion are cornerstones of TT. Some of the participants had difficulty feeling the energy at first but by the second day they were catching on very well. One of the participants has been busy offering TT to an elderly friend, family and neighbours in Sault Ste. Marie. She is having a wonderful time with this new experience of energy healing. It truly is a healing modality that anyone can learn and use in every day life. TT changes your life in many ways - it opens doors to new ways of thinking and experiencing this world and it teaches you to get and stay centered and grounded in your own life.
There were four participants who came from Sault Ste. Marie for the training. Three of them were family members. Alice, grandmother, Nicole, daughter-in-law and Marlys granddaughter took this program together. Marlys is in training to be a mid-wife so it is wonderful that she can offer her mother's to be TT to relax and comfort them.
It was a terrific learning experience enhanced by Shirley Boon's gentle and thorough teaching style, and her number one assistant, her husband Glenn's support. Sunday evening after the perfect weekend of learning we went out for a walk to Wawa Lake and I was able to capture Shirley and Glenn with a rainbow over Wawa Lake.
As followup to the TT teaching there will be Practice Groups available in Wawa as well as in Sault Ste. Marie. I am offering the Practice Group in Wawa so if you have a Level One TT course you are welcome to call for information at 705-856-2090. A TT practioner, Margaret Saarela, in Sault Ste. Marie, is willing to offer the Practice Group there so please call Aldona for that information as well.
